Family Start is a child-centred, intensive home visiting programme focused on improving education, health and social outcomes for children and families.

​

Taeaomanino Trust is seeking to employ a Permanent Full-Time Social Worker in our Family Start Team.  Our social workers provide on-going support to families with children aged between 0-5 years old. 

 

You will be delivering the following main aspects:

• To assist in creating better social outcomes for Pacific families and their children.

• Provide one on one parental support and information on child development and learning.

• Providing families with information about resources available in their community.

 

This is an exciting programme that contributes to the holistic model of care that promotes a service which is:

• Child centered.

• Family Focused whilst resulting in Strengths based solutions.

 

With a Tertiary qualification in Social Work or equivalent and hands on experience at an operational level, you will be an integral member of the Family Start Team within Taeaomanino Trust. An understanding of the Vulnerable Children Act 2014 will be an advantage. You will also hold a current full driving license and have exceptional time management skills to meet contractually driven KPI’s.

Your relationship management focus will allow you to engage with individuals at all levels, ethnicities and backgrounds to support ‘Best Social Work Practice’ across Taeaomanino and interagency stakeholders.  It goes without saying you'll be a high-level communicator capable of establishing rapport and credibility quickly with a diverse audience.

PERSONAL QUALITIES 

• Can speak a Pacific language (desirable)

• Registered Social Worker or be registerable for SWRB

• Holds a current full NZ Drivers License 

• Team player and is willing to learn from others

• Is a NZ citizen, or holds NZ Residency
